There is no single best hospital management software. The right choice depends on your size, budget, language and how much support you need. This guide explains the main types, what they typically cost and what to ask any vendor, including us.
Free setup and data migration · no per-user fees · support on WhatsApp
Prices change and many vendors quote only on request, so treat these as ranges and always ask for a written quote.
| Type | Typical published price | Good for | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Local offline desktop software | One-time, roughly ₹8,000 to ₹1.25 lakh | Very small setups on one computer | One machine, backups are your job, little support after the sale, rarely multi-branch |
| Flat-fee cloud software | Roughly ₹10,000 to ₹1.8 lakh a year for a small hospital | Nursing homes and small hospitals | Check which modules the headline price includes, plus language and support |
| Per-user cloud or enterprise HMS | Per user per month, often with a minimum, or ₹1.5 lakh and up a year, plus setup | Large hospitals with IT teams, labs and radiology | Cost grows with every user you add, and setup can take weeks |
| Clinic and EMR tools | Per doctor per month, sometimes plus booking fees | OPD-only clinics | Usually no beds or IPD |
| Government and free systems | Free | Public hospitals | Not designed for private-hospital billing, and limited support |
| Open source | No licence fee, but implementation cost | Hospitals with their own developers | Needs a technical team to host and maintain it |
MedBandhu is a flat-fee cloud system for nursing homes, clinics and small hospitals: OPD, IPD and beds, pharmacy, GST-ready billing and reports, with Hindi, free setup and migration, no per-user fees and support on WhatsApp. It is not the right fit if you need integrated lab, radiology or operation theatre modules, or insurance claims integration, today.
It depends on your size, budget and needs. A 20-bed nursing home needs something very different from a 300-bed hospital. Use the questions above and see a live demo of each shortlisted product before deciding.
Published prices range from a one-time ₹8,000 for basic local software to several lakh rupees a year for enterprise systems. Flat-fee cloud software for a small hospital typically sits in between. Always get a written quote that includes GST and setup.
For most small hospitals, cloud software is easier: nothing to install, access from any device and no server to maintain. It does need an internet connection, so keep a backup connection such as a phone hotspot.
